16th St Vigil Against Racism: Black Lives Matter to God and to Us

Friday, June 5 from 5:00 – 6:00 pm

People from all houses of worship on 16th St (and those nearby)–and neighbors are invited to observe a physically distanced vigil. We ask you to cover both sides of 16th St. near your place of worship or home, maintaining a 6ft distance and wearing masks. If the blocks near you are covered, move to another location on 16th St. Please bring a sign.
Bell ringing at 5:45: If your place of worship has bells, we invite you to toll them, beginning at 5:45 and lasting 8 minutes, 46 seconds in remembrance of the killing of George Floyd. Those on the street may kneel during the tolling of the bells. If prayer is your practice, you are invited to pray silently for the transformation of this country, particularly the dismantling of racist structures and practices.
For more information, contact Rev. Rob Keithen (All Souls UU) or Rev. Renata Eustis (Christ Lutheran). Spread the word widely. RSVPs are helpful but not necessary: Click here to RSVP.
