September 2020 Washington, DC Real Estate Report

The weather wasn’t the only thing that was hot in August; DC real estate sales hit decade-highs in price across the board last month. The number of closed sales in the city hit 905. The number of new listings rose to 1,278, which is the highest August level we’ve seen in the past five-years.

The median sales price for Washington, DC Homes for Sale hit $648,000, which was up 13.4% from August 2019. The median sales price was $640,000 in July.

This Month’s Most Expensive

The most expensive of all Washington, DC Homes for sale last month was a turn-of-the-century American Four-Square home in Cleveland Park.  This exquisitely renovated property sold for a touch over $4 million.

This Month’s Least Expensive

A pair of 1-bedroom condominiums in SE DC shared the title for the least expensive homes this month.  Both units sold for $55,000 and require significant rehabilitation.
