Drive-In Movies!

DC’s temporary drive-in movie theater is back for the holidays.  Here is the current box office lineup:

Events DC/PARK UP RFK Stadium – Abominable, Frozen, Bad Santa, This Christmas, Frozen 2, Friday After Next

Tickets are $29 per car (not per person).  See their website for showtimes.

  1. The Prom (Netflix) – A troupe of hilariously self-obsessed theater stars swarm into a small conservative Indiana town in support of a high school girl who wants to take her girlfriend to the prom.
  2. Safety (Disney Plus) – Jay Reeves stars as a Clemson freshman who risks his football scholarship by having his little brother secretly live on campus with him when their drug-addicted mom goes to rehab. Based on a true story.
  3. Alex Wheatle (Amazon Prime) – Alex Wheatle follows the true story of award-winning writer, Alex Wheatle (Sheyi Cole), from a young boy through his early adult years. Having spent his childhood in a mostly white institutional care home with no love or family, he finally finds not only a sense of community for the first time in Brixton, but his identity and ability to grow his passion for music and DJing.
  4. Songbird (Apple TV) – In the near future, a deadly strain of COVID-23 has turned L.A. into an apocalyptic place, and an immune delivery guy goes to extremes so he and his girlfriend can escape the city.
  5. Verzuz TV (Instragram | Apple Music | YouTube) – Postponed – The battle between 00s R&B singers has been postponed because Ashanti tested positive for COVID-19. New date is January 9th.
