Washington, DC Weekend Guide | November 13 – 15

Best of Online Entertainment

Now that the election is finally over (is it really over though?), you can use your television for some more wholesome entertainment.

  1. Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (Netflix) – An imaginary world comes to life in a holiday tale of an eccentric toymaker, his adventurous granddaughter, and a magical invention that has the power to change their lives forever.
  2. Come Away (Apple TV) – When tragedy strikes, Peter and Alice seek to save their parents from despair until they are forced to choose between home and imagination, setting the stage for their iconic journeys into Wonderland and Neverland.
  3. The Life Ahead (Netflix) – In seaside Italy, a Holocaust survivor with a daycare business takes in a 12-year-old street kid who recently robbed her. Starring Sophia Loren.
  4. Jungleland (Apple TV) – Two brothers try to escape their circumstances by traveling across the country for a no holds barred boxing match that becomes a fight for their lives.
  5. The Crown Season 4 Premiere (Netflix) – Follows the political rivalries and romance of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign and the events that shaped the second half of the twentieth century. Season 4 introduces Emma Corrin as Princess Diana and Gillian Anderson as PM Margaret Thatcher.
  6. Residue (Netflix) – A young filmmaker returns home to DC after many years away, to write a script about his childhood, only to find his neighborhood unrecognizable and his childhood friends being scattered to the wind.

Other notables: Fruitvale Station (Netflix), American Horror Story: 1984 (Amazon Prime), Eater’s Guide to the World (Hulu), Clouds (Disney )
