Yoga Heights, a locally owned yoga studio on Georgia Avenue, recently opened their second studio right in the heart of Takoma at 255 Carroll Street NW. Classes have begun and the grand opening will take place this Friday, December 8, from 5-7 pm with door prizes, live music and yoga classes.
This is a community oriented yoga studio with a mission to offer classes for every body at every level and every budget. Owners Jess Pierno and Amy Rizzotto both live in the neighborhood and are excited to become as involved in the Takoma community as they have been in Petworth, Columbia Heights, and Park View since opening in 2014.
“We offer high quality yoga but we also don’t take ourselves too seriously,” says owner Jess Pierno. “We try to meet the needs of our students by offering a wide variety of classes, flexible drop-in pricing, and even child care options so parents can get in for classes without having to hire a babysitter.”
Yoga Heights Takoma will expand the class offerings available to students with more than 30 classes such as all levels vinyasa and power yoga, beginners classes, Rocket yoga, restorative and Yin yoga, prenatal yoga, bootcamps, Pilates, yoga teacher training and community events at both locations. Memberships and class packs will apply to classes at both Yoga Heights Takoma and Yoga Heights Georgia Avenue.
To ensure that their classes work with all budgets, the studio offers half price “happy hour” classes five days per week, work-study in trade for classes, as well as “Karma Passes” which allow students to pay just $9 per class up to four times per month. Through these programs, Yoga Heights has helped more than 4,000 people afford yoga classes in the three years they have been open.
Classes and memberships are available at www.YogaHeightsDC.com. New students are encouraged to try their popular $39 dollars for 3 weeks of unlimited classes Intro Offer as a low-cost way to get to know the studio. Visit the website to view the Takoma schedule and sign up today.
